On Saturday, 30th September, James Hermans (co-founder and co-inventor of Q magnets) gave a presentation at the International Medical Acupuncture Conference in Amsterdam (ICMART 2023).
The main theme of the talk was…
“Static medical magnets are a promising emerging technology to improve clinical outcomes in complex patients.” And “A review of a case study and subsequent case series published in Medical Acupuncture presents the early evidence to support the use of static medical magnets as a potential treatment option for the complex patient.”
Then as if right on queue, we received this perfect anecdote from a very experienced acupuncturist and medical specialist…
“I would also tell you my recent wonderful experience with Q-magnet in a patient.
At the end of July 2023, an 82-year-old woman came to my practice with severe pain in her right leg, which arose after the 2nd COVID vaccination in April 2021. The pain is localized. the gallbladder meridian (lateral side of the leg) of her right leg and jumps from hip to ankle. The nature of the pain varied from burning pain to stabbing pain. She could not walk because of the pain. She walked very crooked and with difficulty with a walker. So her mobility is severely limited. Pain clinic could not help her.
I first treated her with TCM acupuncture + low level laser therapy, but that didn’t help. Electro-acupuncture also did not help, nor did Battlefield acupuncture and Chinese scalp acupuncture. In desperation, I tried Q-magnet and placed it segmentally on her spine just before ICMART. Gallbladder meridian is located on the dermatome L2 -L5. I placed the OF 50-3 at L2, slightly right lateral from the midline.
After a day she called that the pain was worse and I advised to continue. After then I heard nothing more from her. Yesterday she comes to my practice and is completely happy, because the pain is practically gone. She can walk upright again, but still has insufficient strength to walk independently. That’s why she still uses the walker. She will work to improve the muscle strength of her legs with leg muscle strengthening exercises. The patient is happy and the doctor too.“
