In November, 2012 we exhibited Q Magnets at the Pan Pacific Medical Acupuncture Forum. I had the privilege to meet Dr Steven Aung, a medical acupuncturist from Canada.
Disclaimer:
Dr. Aung is in no way affiliated with Q Magnets and this is not an endorsement of Q Magnets by Dr. Aung.
Dr Aung gave a heart-felt talk at the conference on patient care and the importance of giving unconditional love without necessarily expecting anything in return.
It reminded me of the words of Jesus in Luke Chapter 6:35
“I tell you, love your enemies. Help and give without expecting a return. You’ll never—I promise—regret it. Live out this God-created identity the way our Father lives toward us, generously and graciously, even when we’re at our worst. Our Father is kind; you be kind.”
The next day, it inspired me to wear my tie usually reserved for weddings…
At the conference dinner, Dr Aung generously donated his time and talents to one of his passions in expressing life through the written Chinese characters. I wasn’t going to be outbid and made sure I secured the Chinese character for love, which I had scanned…
The character is made up of three elements.
- The top symbol is family.
- The middle symbol represents the heart.
- The bottom symbol is friend.
Later in the conference I managed to have a photo with Dr Aung. See if you can recognise the symbol we are making…
