TENSÂ machines are thought to work by activating the fast-conducting myelinated nerves, such as A-Beta fibres and closing the Pain-Gate. Whereas Q magnets mainly inhibit the slow-conducting unmyelinated nerves, such as C-fibres. Combining the two modalities, can simultaneously target both the fast-conducting and slow-conducting nerves and improve the effects on some of the more complex painful conditions.

How to use Q magnets with TENS
 Use your TENS as per the manufacturer’s instructions or according to the prescribed advice from your doctor or therapist. As a general rule when used separately, TENS pads are placed on either side of the spine, whereas Q magnets are placed centrally over the spine.
When used together, place the Q magnets over the top of each TENS pad following their instructions.
You will most likely notice that you are able to tolerate increasing the intensity of the TENS machine when the Q magnets are placed over the top. In terms of which Q magnet, use at least the 20mm diameter with the QF20-3 magnet, or preferably the larger 28mm one with the QF28-3. There are way too many possibilities to cover.
