People’s sensitivity to magnetic fields could differ, new research shows

compassWe’ve known for some time that different people have different sensitivities to static magnetic fields.

There doesn’t appear to be an obvious reason as to who, why or where, but as a health practitioner, you place magnets on enough patients and the differences in sensitivity are obvious.

Did you know that a dowser, walking along divining for water, is actually sensing changes in the earth’s magnetic field? If you were able to shrink right down to miniature size and move across the surface of a common bipolar magnet, there would be no change in the magnetic field and it’s said to be uniform or “homogeneous”. Whereas, if you were able to walk across a Quadrapolar magnet, there would be large changes and the magnetic field is said to be non-uniform or “inhomogeneous” and produce magnetic field gradients.

One of the key factors in optimising static magnetic fields for therapeutic effects is incorporating magnetic field gradients which require multipolar magnets. See “How Q Magnets work” for more details.

Magnetic Fields and Laser Combining Once Again to Improve People’s Lives…


In a previous post, we debunked the myths around magnetic therapy and blood flow and explained why iron (Fe) in the blood in not attracted to a magnet field.

The scientific principles around iron in haemoglobin have now made it possible to simply detect the malaria parasite using a combination of magnetic fields and laser light. Many clinics use LLLT (Low Level Laser Therapy) in the treatment of pain which can be very effective and possibly improved by using Q Magnets in conjunction as a “take home” therapy. So it’s great news to see magnetic fields and laser combine once again, this time as a diagnostic tool.

As you know, haemoglobin in red blood cells contains iron and is the carrier used to transport life giving oxygen around the body. The malaria parasite digests haemoglobin as a food source, but the isolated heme component which contains the iron is toxic. So the parasite cleverly converts the heme into an insoluble rod like crystal called hemozoin.

Caution Around Magnetic Fields Near Computers and Sensitive Electronic Equipment…


Q Magnets are a rare earth neodymium magnet and one of the strongest static magnets known. The magnetic field produced by even the larger Q Magnets penetrate no more than around 2” or 5cm and even less on the side of the flux plate. Bringing sensitive medical devices such as pacemakers within this distance should be strictly avoided. Likewise keep your credit cards or any other magnetic storage device out of this range.

Placing any strong magnet on top of a spinning computer hard drive will likely destroy all data. But the newer solid state hard drives (with no spinning discs) don’t seem to be affected.
