New treatments for chronic pain have not been forthcoming , but Q magnets are providing answers for some pain sufferers.
A recent review in The Lancet by Turk, concluded that the last 10-20 years has made very little progress in the treatment of non-cancer chronic pain.
Turk noted there is a crucial need for a combination of therapies to tackle this pervasive problem. Clinics such as the Lifestyle Pain Clinic have many case studies of long term chronic pain sufferers who now live productive lives.
Treating persistent pain is very complex and there are no silver bullets, even large pharmaceutical companies are pulling out of the area. So this is a very complex and difficult area even for the best researchers.
While there is no doubt that magnetic therapy has a chequered history, there are areas within it such as Q magnet therapy that are proving to be an effective, simple and relatively inexpensive method for changing people’s lives, one pain at a time.
